Fake Communiqué Claiming State of Emergency at the Moroccan Embassy in Doha: Circulating Document Is False and Unfounded

ALDAR/ Sara El Wakili
Following the widespread circulation on social media of a statement attributed to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Doha, alleging a “declaration of maximum state of emergency” and calling for the urgent evacuation of the Moroccan community, official sources have confirmed that the document in question is fake and entirely unfounded.

This clarification comes after a wave of inquiries and requests for verification received by the embassy from members of the Moroccan community residing in the State of Qatar, amid the rapid spread of what was described as an “urgent communiqué” carrying an alarming tone and containing inaccurate information.
The embassy stressed that the authentic statement officially issued by its services does not announce any state of emergency nor does it call for evacuation. Rather, it falls within the framework of routine communication related to monitoring the current regional situation, with a continued commitment to ensuring smooth and effective contact with Moroccan citizens.
According to the official announcement issued by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Doha, an additional phone number has been made available to members of the community to facilitate communication and respond to inquiries:

The embassy can also be reached via:

In its official statement, the embassy urged citizens to exercise caution and refrain from spreading rumors or misleading information, calling on everyone to rely exclusively on official sources and to comply with the guidance issued by the competent authorities in the State of Qatar.
This incident once again underscores the importance of verifying the authenticity of information before publishing or sharing it, especially when it concerns sensitive matters affecting the safety and security of citizens abroad.
