The 6th session of the Morocco-Bahrain Joint High Committee, held Monday in Laayoune, were crowned by the inking of several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs).

These legal instruments were initialed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita and Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

They include an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports between the governments of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Bahrain, an agreement on visa exemption for holders of special and service passports, and a MoU on customs cooperation between Morocco’s Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration and the Customs Affairs of Bahrain.

A MoU was also inked in the field of production, agricultural and livestock development, as well as food security between Morocco’s Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture of Bahrain, as well as a MoU for cooperation in areas of retirement and social security between Morocco’s Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) and the Social Insurance Organization of Bahrain.

At the end of the session, the two countries expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral ties and their positive progress, in line with the political will and High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His brother His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in addition to the two Sovereigns’ determination to elevate these ties to higher and broader horizons, injecting them with a strong momentum up to the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the two brotherly countries.
