China’s Ambassador to Morocco, Yu Jinsong, carried out a field visit to several agricultural and agro-industrial projects linked to olive cultivation in the city of Meknes.
The visit included a tour of olive groves, as well as inspections of an olive oil production unit and a flour mill belonging to Domaine Moulay Massoud, in the presence of its Director General, Moulay Abdessalam Akouzal. The visit provided an opportunity for the Chinese diplomat to gain first-hand insight into the region’s agricultural potential, as well as the level of development achieved by Morocco’s agro-industrial sector.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between Rabat and Beijing, particularly in areas related to food security and the exchange of expertise in agricultural industries. China has shown growing interest in high-quality agricultural products, especially Moroccan olive oil, which continues to build a strong reputation in international markets.
The visit also reflects the Chinese Embassy’s willingness to expand cooperation prospects toward concrete, high value-added projects, with the aim of boosting investment and enhancing trade exchanges between the two countries.
Such initiatives are expected to open up new opportunities for economic stakeholders and contribute to promoting local products, particularly in the Fes-Meknes region, which is considered one of the Kingdom’s leading agricultural hubs.
